About
IC Clocks is a small buisness I set up three years ago and is run from my home in the small village of Colmonell, Ayrshire. This is the area where I grew up, and despite spending nearly 10 yrs in England, where I studied Painting at art college and worked at various jobs,I eventually returned in 1991.Since then I have worked as a gardener and am presently the Head gardener on a private estate.
The initial idea stemmed from an experiment to make myself a clock from a piece of old roofing slate. Since then I have expanded and refined the process to include numerous elements, including the use of a beautiful, locally sourced stone from a disused quarry I happened upon when out walking. Both the stone and slate have their texture and colour enhanced when the finishing protective varnish is applied.
The variety of beads and jewellery findings I use to illustrate the clockfaces are constantly being expanded, and am always open to new suggestions. Clocks can be made using any combination of beads shown, subject to availability. My most recent designs include pieces with oil painted surfaces, with a mixture of inset beads and surface applied jewellery findings. This makes the process all the more enjoyable for me as my first discipline as an artist has always been oil painting.

Craft fairs and events.

Each year I try to attend as many events as i can. These range from local events in the surrounding villages to larger affairs further afield including agricultural shows and Country Fairs. Apart from thoroughly enjoying them they are a great opportunity to widen the audience for my work, and for me to get new ideas from other artists and crafters. I am always looking for new places to set up my stall and welcome any suggestions or offers.
